B.A. in Psychology and M.A in Industrial & Organizational Psychology

Q: Why did you join?

I joined MNODN to connect/network with experienced professionals, stay up-to-date on industry trends, access resources to aid in professional development.

Q: What benefits do you gain from membership?

Membership has provided me with access to industry events, mentorship opportunities, job postings, an opportunity to gain experience through community consulting program, has increased my network and has given me a community of like-minded professionals to connect with and learn from.

Q: What special skills do you possess that make you an effective OD professional?

I have developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills, which are essential in identifying organizational needs, developing solutions, and implementing strategies to improve organizational effectiveness. Furthermore, my experience in HR has provided me with a deep understanding of employee relations, talent management, and leadership development. I have also honed excellent communication and interpersonal skills, which enable me to build relationships with stakeholders, facilitate change management, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Finally, I am adaptable and resilient, able to navigate change and uncertainty, and thrive in fast-paced environments. These skills, combined with my passion for organizational development, are what make me an effective OD Professional.

I have not but hope to have the opportunity in the future.

Q: What advice do you have for people entering the field?

To be successful in the organizational development field, individuals must establish a strong foundation in key concepts and theories, understand organizational culture, build robust relationships with stakeholders, network with other professionals, and communicate effectively. Patience and persistence are also essential, as changes take time, and it is important to trust the process. Professional development is vital, as is being open-minded and adaptable in adapting to change and new challenges. Lastly, it is important to remember to have fun in their work as enjoying what they do is vital for long-term success.
