Q: How long have you been a member of MNODN and why did you join?

A: I am currently navigating a career change, pursuing a full-time role in OD. After a rewarding decade in Higher Education in recreation/athletics program administration, I wanted to leverage my skills, follow my interests, and continue helping people and organizations develop. I joined the MNODN in August 2023, and I am scratching the surface in understanding the depth and breadth the OD field has to offer.

Q: What benefits do you gain from membership?

A: It has connected me to individuals with similar professional interests and people who want to help people. With my recent career change and relocation to Minnesota, finding a professional space where I could share my story, contribute ideas, and cultivate a supportive network was a top priority. Luckily, I have been warmly welcomed by the MNODN leadership and its members. This has been instrumental in helping me navigate my time of transition and I am truly grateful for this.

A: Strategy and Planning – Strategic facilitation, planning, roadmap development, team building and ways of working Program Leadership – Program governance and leadership, initiative management, and project management Change Enablement – Change management strategy, organization and change program leadership, building change organizations and cultures Organizational Design and Alignment – Organizational design and workforce planning

Q:How have you participated in MNODN? Please share your experiences.

A: I attended a networking social this fall and have had several meaningful conversations. I am thrilled to be working on a CCP engagement this fall. I am looking forward to collaborating with others to drive meaningful outcomes for our valued clients. In leadup to 2024, I am helping with the MNODN’s Community Consulting Program (CCP)’s development through the effective use and organization of technology. I also look forward to being an active participant in the next mentoring program cohort.

Q. What advice do you have for people entering the field?

A: Every person has a contribution to make – regardless of tenure in the field. An open mind, humility, and a relentless drive to elevate people around you will take you a long way. Be curious and mindful of opportunities to pay it forward.
